At night May 8, Carnaval Ha Long 2015 with theme “Elite Convergence- Smile Spreading” was held on Hoang Quoc Viet road, Hung Thang ward, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh. This is an event in the series of cultural, sport and tourism activities of “Tourism week of Ha Long- Quang Ninh 2015”. The program is to introduce the land, culture and people in Quang Ninh.

The program included three sections: greeting from beach city, elite convergence- Ha Long smiles. On the photo is a performance that shown images of miners.

The art program included sing, dance and music performances on the nearly one kilometer road with the participation of 2,700 amateur and professional actors.

The festival also attracted some foreign art groups from Thailand, Laos, China, etc.

The program included 11 performances, 10 flower cars, models, mobile stages which are impressively decorated with themes Carnaval Ha Long, Flower Street, Come Back to Halong, Beach Street, Black Pearls, Golden sun and blue beach, Ha Long smiles, etc.

A lot of well- known singers, music bands such as To Minh Thang, Pham Thu Ha, Hong Chinh, Hoang Tung, Duong Hoang Yen, Northern Group, MTV group, Romance group performed at the festival night.

In the program, some famous scenes in Ha Long were introduced together with cultural identities.

Since 2007, Carnaval has been annually organized in Ha Long, contributing to promote images and values of culture in Quang Ninh to other parts of the country as well as in the world.

The program this year also carried the special meaning on occasion of 40 year anniversary of Vietnam reunification, 60- year freeing mine area and towards 125^th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

According to the organizer, this year Carnaval involved 40,000 locals and participants.

The festival in Trung Coc temple

Location: Trung Coc Temple is situated on a high mound in the middle of Dong Coc village, Nam Hoa commune, Yen Hung district, Quang Ninh Province.

Characteristics: The temple includes three forecourts and two harems. The temple worship Tran Hung Dao and Pham Ngu Lao and still maintained some ordained papers and offerings with high artistic value. First, the temple was built with bamboo, then, under the reign of King 6^th Gia Long (1807), it was reconstructed as today. The temple worships national heroes Tran Hung Dao and Pham Ngu Lao. According to legend, in preparation for construction piles in Van Muoi, such two generals’ boats were stranded in the mound of Dong Coc (today) and they had to mobilize militia and fishermen to pull boats out. To remember this event, after Bach Dang victory, residents here built a temple right in the place where boats were stranded. In the temple, there are two statues of Tran Hung Dao and Pham Ngu Lao, some ordained papers and offerings with high artistic value.

Trung Coc temple festival takes place on March 8th lunar calendar. Along with piles yard Yen Giang, Tran Hung Dao Temple – Temple of Mrs. King, Gieng Rung ironwood, Trung Ban communal house; they all form an abundant relic complex, associated with the Bach Dang victory in 1288.
