Saigontourist Company and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the welcoming ceremony for the international cruise SuperStar Virgo of 2,600 tourists on June 3.
The ceremony involves Mr. Ho Anh Tuan, deputy minister of department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung, Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism; Ms. Cu Thi Thu Thuy, vice chairman of Provincial People’s Committee and other representatives.
Luxury cruise SuperStar Virgo of Star Cruises ship (the 3rd largest Malaysian cruise in the world owns 19 luxury ships) carried 2,600 tourists and international crews of Asian countries to Ha Long and visiting Halong City, Halong Bay – the world heritage and natural wonder, exploring the daily life of the locals and leaving the port in the evening (3 pm) on the same day.
This activity is often based on the agreement between the Travel Service Company Saigontourist and Star Cruises ship since 1996. In 2014, the company is expected to welcome 25 ships from SuperStar Virgo (from April to October, 2014).
At the welcoming ceremony, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Quang Ninh province presents flowers for welcoming tourists to Ha Long. At the same time, receiving the invitation of Mr. Jan Blomqvist, Captain of SuperStar Virgo to visit and congratulate crews on board.
Mr. Vu Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee noted the long partnership of Star Cruises ships with Quang Ninh travel. Total tourism revenue is estimated at over 2,400 billion, 42.6% of the plan, up 13% compared to the same period in 2013.
