Long Tien pagoda- the biggest pagoda in Ha Long city
Location: on Long Tien street, under the foot of Bai Tho mountain, Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province.
Feature: This is a famous historical landmark and the biggest pagoda in Ha Long city.
Long Tien pagoda was built in 1941, the pagoda is described unique architectural style, sculpture like a temple under Nguyen Dynasty with patterns of dragon and phoenix shapes or motifs of flowers and leaves. At the top of three-gate door is Buddha statue in sitting position, under is a bell tower with three words “Long Tien Tu”. Both sides are two sentences. The main room shrines Buddhist, generals under Tran dynasty on the right, and Tam Phu Thanh Mau on the left.
The three-gate door includes three gates: “Huu”, “Vo” and “Dai”. At the top of three-gate door is Buddha statue in sitting position, under is a bell tower with three words “Long Tien Tu”
In addition to the three-gate door, there is a Bodhidharma statue- ancestor of Chinese Zen and Vietnam sanctum. This is placed many generals’ statues, on the left of sanctum shrines Tran Hung Dao, and Van Phuong Thanh Mau on the right.
