As the work to celebrate 50th establishment of Quang Ninh province, the complex of Quang Ninh museums and libraries was invested total 919 VND billion to build the Quang Ninh museum on a total area of 6,512 square meters.
The complex of Quang Ninh museums and libraries is located in the cultural population of Hong Hai ward, Ha Long city, near October 30 Square. The construction system was designed by Spain architect with 14,000 square meters of semi- tempered glass. The building becomes a giant mirror reflecting natural heritages of Ha Long Bay.
The building’s blocks include three floors and a ground floor.

The work is designed with three blocks: museum block, library, conference area and gallery.
The highlight of the complex of Quang Ninh museums and libraries at the first floor is mountain- shaped tubes of Ha Long bay images, creating a display space to introduce natural condition of Quang Ninh. The second floor is designed as model of a wooden boat; the third floor is systems of furnace that imitate development periods of coal mining industry, etc. The display and storage of exhibits reflect adequately distinct features in traditional life, history, culture, the arts, nature and people of Quang Ninh during 50 years of construction and development.

The library block is designed in modern style including halls, reading rooms, reference materials, books exhibition and conference room.
The second floor displays a variety of exhibits, cultural and historical values of Quang Ninh
In addition, there is an area for rare document and materials, exhibits of display area with religious theme.

The investment and management board of Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism organized the inauguration on October 13, 2013. The construction began in late 2012, as one of the works celebrating the 50th establishment of Quang Ninh province (October 30, 1963 – October 30, 2013).
